How to root the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro MK16i

Rooting the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro it’s actually quite easy.
First, connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable.

NOTE: Only works on firmware o.42 (4.0.2.A.0.42) and lower.
If windows asks for a driver, download this google-USB-driver package, extract it somewhere and then select the drivers in the drivers/x86/winusb of drivers/x64/winusb folder (depending of CPU type you have). This will install the “Android ADB interface”
Disconnect your phone, reboot your PC, and reconnect your phone again.

Then download the “” or check XDA-developers for newer versions.

Extract the files and start the file “RUNME.bat”
Read the instructions before hitting any key!

    look on and
you need to go back to a lesser firmware version like o.42

instructions are on above form look for bootloader etc

i used . it cost £1-99 to drop back to firmware 0.42 using an easy method over net but use “advanced” method to find firmwaire version

    worked a treat
